As the Off Shift Lead at Superior Tire & Rubber Corporation, you will be responsible for overseeing manufacturing operations within the facility. This position requires technical expertise in operating manufacturing equipment, leadership skills to guide employees, and a commitment to ensuring quality and efficiency in production processes.Essential Job Functions:Operational Leadership:* Provide coaching and training to team members to enhance their skills and productivity.* Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment to promote team cohesion and morale.* Guide employee in performing manufacturing operations.* Ensure adherence to safety protocols and procedures in all activities.* Monitor machine performance and address any issues or malfunctions promptly.* Report incidents and implement preventive measures to avoid recurrence.Technical Expertise:* Set up and operate a variety of manufacturing equipment.* Optimize programs for efficiency and quality, utilizing knowledge of parameters and machine capabilities.* Perform in-process and final inspections of manufactured components.* Adjust machine settings to achieve desired specifications and tolerances, as instructed.* Perform routine entry-level maintenance tasks on machines to ensure optimal performance.Quality Assurance:* Inspect parts to verify conformance to specifications.* Identify and troubleshoot quality issues, adjusting as necessary to maintain product quality.* Implement quality control measures to minimize defects and rework.Documentation and Reporting:* Maintain accurate production records, including production reports, inspection logs, and shift summaries.* Report on production metrics, including output, scrap rates, downtime, and efficiency.* Provide daily updates, via shift-to-shift communication tools, to management on production performance, issues, and improvement initiatives.Continuous Improvement:* Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency enhancements in manufacturing operations.* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement best practices and drive continuous improvement initiatives.Communication* Communicate effectively with management, peers, and team members to convey production goals, priorities, and updates.* Report on production metrics, including output, efficiency, quality, and safety, to management and stakeholders.* Communicate all changes in shift-to-shift communication tools.Supervisory Responsibilities:* This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but does serve as a coach and mentor for other positions in the company.Other Duties:* Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
