Job Description Serves as a Coordinator of Medical Student Education in the Department of Pediatrics located at Nationwide Childrens Hospital; coordinates and assists with daily activities and mission of providing quality pediatric medical education assignments to third and fourth year medical students; assists Program Manager with course description materials, curricula, orientation manuals, on-line educational components, and lecture material updates; reviews and determines student preferences and placement availability based upon course availability and number of seats offered; determines acceptance of students into specific curricular offerings; coordinates and determines pediatric clerkship rotation assignments and educational experiences for all third year medical students (MS3), and clinical assignments or research activities for fourth year students (MS4) and visiting students as directed by Program Manager; generates and publishes clinical assignments, rotation notification sheets, clinic schedules, night call, emergency medicine, NCH Close to Home student schedules, and community pediatrician schedules; serves as primary contact for information about schedules, directions, and maps; coordinates and arranges medical student lectures; develops and disseminates lecture schedules; coordinates and ensures compliance to requirements for appropriate documentation of absences from educational experiences; conducts multiple orientation sessions for fourth-year medical and visiting students; assists with implementation of activities and policies and procedures related to MS 3, MS 4 or visiting student programs; coordinates issuance of and maintains tracking of security badges and parking passes for both third and fourth year medical students; tracks and maintains meal allowance funds; assigns pagers to visiting students; compiles student evaluation summaries; plans and coordinates educational events and activities; proctors NBME Pediatric shelf exam; procures, stock and maintains o Minimum Education Required Per Classified Civil Svc Specs Required Qualifications Experience in a medical education setting required; 6 mos. experience (600 hours course work or training) in customer service or communications, including researching, analyzing & interpreting information; 3 months experience (300 hours course work) in budgeting; Some positions require 6 mos. experience (600 hours training) in operation of spreadsheet, publication, and/or presentation software and related computer equipment; and/or 3 mos. exp. (300 hrs course work) in supervision management and 3 mos. experience (300 hours course work) in interviewing.
