Minimum Qualifications This title is part of the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide Program (NY HELPS)* and applicants must meet the following minimum qualifications to be considered for this position:
Applicants must possess one year of clerical experience.
Applicants may also be appointed to this position if currently reachable on the appropriate eligible list for this title OR are a current New York State employee with one year or more of qualifying permanent service in a position allocated to a Grade 7 or above and eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.
Duties Description The incumbent to this position would be responsible for, but not limited to the following:
* Prepares Full Board and non-calendar agenda sheets. Reviews and analyzes the disciplinary history of a license and enters that information on the agenda sheet. Reviews all documents associated with each matter for accuracy before submitting to Secretary's Office.
* Serves as a liaison with the NYPD. Requests documents for a high volume of cases and maintains an organized list of the requests. Communicates with the NYPD via telephone and email.
* Assists in processing FOIL requests by speaking with members of the public about the request, retrieving the requested records from SLA files and redacting confidential information.
* Prepares Hearing Notices, bills of particular and other correspondence as necessary.
* Assists attorneys in organizing exhibits and evidence.
* Assists attorneys in contacting witnesses which may include outreach via telephone and/or email.
* Reviews, distributes and scans incoming mail.
* Enters information and data into Compliance regarding mail and status of cases.
