Nature of Work

Under general supervision, functions at full-performance level and performs complex clerical tasks calling for the interpretation and application of office procedures, rules and regulations. This position will provide direct support to the facility's Records Office. Responsible for entering information into the Offender Information System. Record and update Inmate Institutional Disciplinary Reports. Contact with Law Enforcement Agencies, Judges, Prosecutors, Parole Board Members, Probation and Parole Officers, Attorneys, FBI Agents, U.S. Marshals, and other Penal Institutions. Proof, check, sort and file forms, reports and documents in inmate records. Answer telephones, screen calls, take messages, and give public information when necessary. Provide support to the Records Clerk by performing as a lead worker in clerical position.Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Training:Graduation from a standard high school or the equivalent.

Experience:Four (4) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience performing routine office work.

Substitution:College hours, related business school, or vocational training may be substituted through an established formula for the required experience.
