Responsibilities

Job Purpose

The Office Assistant is responsible for providing administrative services by answering phones, directing calls and assisting with all aspects of office duties. Office Assistants enjoy working in a fast-paced environment while interacting closely with members and guests. Working closely with the General Manager, the Office Assistant enjoys solving problems while ensuring members and guests receive a memorable experience.

Responsibilities

* Provide customer service to members and guests in person and on the telephone by helping with information, directions, etc.

* Answer incoming calls, transfer calls and take messages as needed

* Assist Accounting Department by preparing and processing daily cash sales and receipts

* Assist other departments by performing various duties including making bank deposits; updating spreadsheets or databases; filing; copying; collecting and reviewing new hire paperwork and conducting orientation

* Maintain an orderly work area by organizing workspace and maintaining general supplies

* Acknowledge, greet and thanks all members and guests

* Implement and support all American Golf initiatives and programs as requested by management

* Other duties may be assigned by management

Qualifications

Qualifications

* Ability to operate computer, copier, fax and postage machine

* To perform this job successfully, an individual should type 45 words per minute

* Valid driver's license is required

Education

* High school diploma required (2-Year college degree preferred) or equivalent combination of education and experience

Working Conditions

* Days and hours of work vary by schedule and business needs

* Evening, weekend, and holiday work will be required

* Special working conditions include but are not limited to a range of circumstances such as sitting or standing for periods of time

* While performing the duties of this position the employee may be required to sit for long periods of time, to stand, walk, hear, talk, read, balance, use hands, use fingers and reach

* The employee may be required to lift or move objects weighing up to 20 pounds

* Specific vision abilities required for this position include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus

* The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet
