Primary Purpose

Performs a variety of general clerical, office and receptionist duties. Greets instructor, students, visitors, answers questions, gives directions, makes referrals and provides information and assistance about department operations and procedures.

Essenatial Duties and Responsibilities

+ Serve as the first point of contact for members of the campus community; provides front counter and general office assistance; maintains an inviting and friendly atmosphere in reception area.

+ Provide general campus and building information to students, staff and community members through in- person, phone and or email interaction.

+ Provides support to students and faculty; compiles data for preparation as requested.

+ Receive and file paperwork, answers the phone, delivers materials, etc. May make photocopies as requested by faculty or other office staff.

+ Maintain cleanliness of surrounding areas. Enter job tickets into the campus system for other maintenance items.

+ Perform other duties as assigned that support the overall objective of the position.

+ Ability to use standard office equipment, including e-mail, phones, Microsoft Office software, web editing software, and familiarity with web-based blogs and social networking.

+ Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, using the English language with or without the use of an interpreter.

+ Strong interpersonal, organization, and customer service skills.

Ergonomic Requirements

Work hours are typically varied Monday through Friday, with occasional evening and weekend hours or schedule changes for special events. Incumbent must be able to function effectively indoors in an office environment engaged in work of primarily a sedentary nature. Requires the ability to sit at a workstation for extended periods of time and to stand upright and interacting at a customer service station. Requires near visual acuity to write, read written materials and computer screens. Requires sufficient hearing and speech ability for ordinary and telephonic conversations. Requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, at times. Required to reach, bend, twist, and grasp.

Required to set up and take down furniture and equipment. All individuals are required to be able to perform the essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Minimum Requirements

+ High School Diploma or equivalent.

+ General clerical or reception experience

Licenses: Oregon Drivers License Preferred

Certifications: NWCG certifications are a plus
