Title: Office Assistant Department: TRiO Reports To: Director TRIO Programs Position Type: Staff Position Summary: TheOffice Assistant will provide assistant across the scope of the program inorder to meet the needs of the program and service students Essential Functions: Assiststaff with office duties that includes filing, making phone calls, operatingoffice machines, organizing files and paperwork, make classroom rounds todetermine the needs of the instructors and students, complete errands andcommunicate concerns to the appropriate staff member. Additional Functions: Occasionallythe candidate maybe asked to supervise students and/or escort students fromone place to another. Prerequisite Qualifications: Musthave good organizational skills, and basic knowledge of the Microsoft systemand Microsoft Suites. Preferred Qualifications: - Candidatescan be a current high school senior or graduate, a college student or recentcollege graduate. - Experience working with minority or disadvantaged students, should possess ahigh level of integrity. - At the university's discretion, theeducation and experience prerequisites may be exempted where the candidatecan demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university, an equivalentcombination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidatefor success in the position.
