Springfield Orthodontics is seeking a Office Assistant to work alongside our Dr.'s to provide high quality orthodontic treatment for children, teens and adults. This position requires dedication to the delivery of quality oral health care in a caring and compassionate nature and commitment to becoming an integral part of Springfield orthodontic team. Responsibilities: Set up treatment rooms for procedures Escort patients to treatment room Seat patients in treatment rooms Show care and concern, and help patients feel comfortable Obtain and review health histories according to office protocol Ensure patients are always attended Anticipate and assist dentist's needs Perform functions and tasks as assigned by the dentist Ensure patients' questions are answered thoroughly before they leave Chart patients records, service rendered and any charges Escort patients from the treatment room to treatment coordination Ensure proper treatment notes are recorded in patient's chart Perform clinical procedures as practice act allows and as directed by dentist Keep dental units ready, stocked and clean Oversee cleanliness of the treatment room according to sterilization procedures Keep trays, instruments and treatment room drawers organized Ensure that office sterilization procedures document is on display Promptly send out and monitor all dental laboratory cases Implement the preventative maintenance/cleaning schedule for dental equipment Follow laboratory procedures according to office protocol Take intraoral impressions for all non-prosthodontic appliances. Requirements Proficiency in orthodontic/dental terminology Experience working in an orthodontic office setting required Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities Bilingual proficiency is a plus Knowledge of orthodontic/dental office management practices & software Benefits 401(k) Employee discount Paid time off Retirement plan
