Office Assistant Opportunity in Columbia Job Description We are seeking an enthusiastic Office Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will perform a variety of clerical, secretarial, and general office duties including those of a confidential nature. The Office Assistant will manage facility needs, maintain records and files, assist with travel and training paperwork, and provide general support with various clerical activities. Responsibilities Assist and coordinate special projects, meetings, and special events. Maintain records and files. Manage facility needs. Manage calendars for conference rooms. Assist with travel and training personnel paperwork. Assist with office supply needs and vendor negotiations. Perform a wide range of clerical, secretarial, and general office duties including those of a confidential nature. Greet persons entering premises in a professional manner. Answer incoming calls and direct calls. Provide general support with a variety of clerical activities. Manage incoming and outgoing mail. Respond to inquiries displaying a comprehensive knowledge of the facility's activities, policies, and programs. Interact with partnering companies, guests, and personnel, including those at the senior level, to resolve issues and problems. Modify and/or create databases and complex spreadsheets. Compile information from a variety of sources, format, prepare and distribute a variety of reports, graphs, tables, and charts. Other duties may be assigned depending on the business needs of the company. Essential Skills 1-3 years of administrative assistant/receptionist experience in a professional environment. Experience providing a high level of customer service. Proficiency with intermediate to advanced word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications. Moderate to fast, accurate keyboarding skills. Excellent proofreading and writing skills. Ability to multi-task and pay attention to details. Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Communications or a related field. Reception experience. Work Environment This is an in-office position requiring 40 hours per week for two weeks. The work environment is professional and requires interaction with various levels of personnel and external partners.
