Office AssistantApplication Deadline: 13 December 2024 Department: Transportation Employment Type: Full Time Location: Annapolis Compensation: $24.00 / hour Description An Office Assistant is a non-exempt employee who, under the supervision of the Terminal Manager, is responsible for assisting with the overall needs of terminal functions. This position works with the Terminal Manager in coordinating the following: recruitment and retention of staff, HR services and assisting with the safety goals for the terminal. Key Responsibilities Administering the random and reasonable suspicion drug & alcohol program including (but not limited to): pulling names for monthly tests, communicating names of those testing positive to HR and sharing with new employees the employee assistance programs offered during onboarding; •Contact applicants, conduct interviews and coordinate employee training; •Communicate and Schedule with Safety team those attending the monthly safety meetings; •Collaborate with terminal staff to ensure driver credentials are up-to-date; •Dispatch- Backup dispatcher during your scheduled shift; •Pull camara data from vehicles to assist in safety investigations; •Other duties as may be assigned by Terminal Manager. Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Excellent organizational skills; •Good oral and written communication skills; •Ability to organize, lead, and motivate personnel involved in terminal operations; •Ability to thrive in a changing environment and consistently meet tight timelines; •Good computer skills and ability to problem solve various software applications; •Knowledge of Federal and State transportation and OSHA regulations; •Conduct oneself professionally and in a manner to reflect positively on STA; Minimum High School Diploma; •Good office skills including: data entry, written communications and knowledge of MS office required; •Prior skills in transportation management a plus
