Morrow Accounting is a small but growing business seeking an enthusiastic and organized office assistant with payroll and bookkeeping experience. Work involves the exercise of processing payroll, client interaction, confidentiality, clerical and general office skills, as well as effective interpersonal skills to work as a part of the team

This position is Full-Time during tax season (Jan- April) and then switches to Part-Time (May-Dec)

This job description is not all inclusive.

Principal Responsibilities Include:

o Maintaining all payroll operations according to each companies' policies and procedures as noted per client

o Setting up each payroll batch as assigned. Payrolls can be submitted via paper or electronic means.

o Process payroll timely and accurately

o Assist supervisor with preparation of monthly, quarterly, yearly payroll and tax documents which may include but are not limited to printing and organizing paperwork and spreadsheets

o Greet clients, set appointments, answer telephone, and giving information to callers, take messages or transfer calls to appropriate individual

o Operate office equipment such as fax machines, copiers, etc.

o General duties include but are not limited to filing, mailing, & review emails.

o Other duties as assigned

o Responsible for protecting the business and our clients by keeping information confidential and secure

Qualifications

o Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines

o Computer savvy with working knowledge of relevant software (e.g. QuickBooks, MS Excel)

o Experience in data collection, entry and reporting

o Able to assist clients in a courteous and professional manner

o Must be able to work independently with strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize work

o Outstanding organizational and time management skills

o Excellent communication abilities with aptitude in problem-solving

o Professional appearance, punctual

Education:

o High School Diploma or equivalent required

o Associate degree or the equivalent in education and experience (preferred)

o Minimum of 6 months experience in payroll and bookkeeping (preferred)

Pay: based on experience

Hours per week:

  • 40 hrs. during Tax Season (Jan- April) with Part-Time 20 hrs. (May-Dec)
