The Water Resources (WR) program within the Department of Ecology is looking to fill an Office Assistant 1 position in our Central Region Office (CRO) in Union Gap, WA. Upon hire, you must live within a commutable distance from the duty station.

In this role, you will gain valuable experience in quality assurance for physical documentation and Agency records policies and procedures. You will be working with a variety of digital databases including SharePoint and the Water Rights Tracking System.

Agency Mission: Ecology's mission is to protect, preserve and enhance the environment for current and future generations.

Program Mission: The mission of the Water Resources Program is to is to support sustainable water resources management to meet the present and future water needs of people and the natural environment, in partnership with Washington communities.

Tele-work options for this position: This position is not eligible for a telework schedule. The position is required to work in the office at least 3 days a week, working almost exclusively with our physical files.

What makes this role unique?

In this role, you will be the primary staff supporting the section in meeting key section transparency goals by imaging physical files so they are readily available to the public. You will be working with a wide range of technology from microfiche to online platforms to meet these goals.

What you will do:

* Digitize paper documents and secure digitized documents in an electronic database.

* Verify digitized records are accurate and complete using established quality control processes.

* Work with other section administrative staff to track files for remaining tasks after imaging is complete.

* Prepare correspondence for distribution and tracking along with other section administrative staff.

Required Qualifications:

Experience for both required and desired qualifications can be gained through various combinations of formal professional employment, educational and volunteer experience. See below for how you may qualify.

Option 1: Six months of clerical work experience.

Option 2: High school graduation or GED equivalent.
