With over 12 billion die in stock, Rochester can manufacture over 70,000 device types.General SummaryThis position is comprised primarily (60%) of daily cleaning the work areas, offices, and buildings using janitorial supplies, removing waste, and performing special cleaning projects as assigned. The secondary role (40%) is comprised of the basic care and repair of company buildings at the direction of the Supervisor, Facilities Maintenance. Maintain a safe work environment and ensure that equipment used is in proper working condition. This position may require some overtime with occasional weekend work. This position is in Portsmouth, NH and may require travel to other Company locations using their own vehicle to the campus in Newburyport, MA.ResponsibilitiesOffice Cleaning (60%):
  • Responsible for floor maintenance, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, buffing, waxing, and stripping floors.
  • General cleaning and dusting in office areas. Clean the kitchen, conference room and bathrooms.
  • Maintenance of janitor closets
  • Empty trash in the office and warehouse.
  • Provide monthly order list for supplies needed to supervisor.
Facility Maintenance (40%):
  • Performs building checks to assess potential problems or needed repairs.
  • Paints and repairs sheetrock, as assigned.
  • Replace ceiling tiles and light bulbs.
  • Maintains clear walkways and emergency exits year-round.
  • Performs essential building maintenance, internally and externally.
  • Assesses security of company systems and assets.
  • Assists with equipment and furniture moves.
It may be requested that subcontractors in assigned areas be provided direction by delegating tasks, as needed.
  • May perform basic plumbing repairs, i.e., sink, toilet, etc.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years related experience working in facility janitorial and office cleaning,
  • Minimum 2 years basic maintenance experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
  • Proven track record of reliability with excellent attendance and punctuality
  • Must have strong communication skills and ability communicate well with all levels of individuals.
  • Able to work independently or with a team.
  • Able to operate a car and transport between NH and MA campus as needed.
  • Able to multitask and meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft products and usage of Outlook on a computer.
  • Always demonstrates initiative and exercises appropriate judgment.
