Job Title Office Coordinator I (Nursing Undergraduate Programs) Position Number 999883 Department Nursing Salary $28,392 Job Summary/Description

Under general supervision, this position performs undergraduate programs office management support to the department chair, department faculty, nursing/prenursing students, and departmental guests. Office management responsibilities include, but not limited to: Communication with the Texas Board of Nursing; Program Admissions; Clinical Requirements Data; Accreditation Requirements; Job Fair; Scholarships; Departmental Tour Scheduling; Student File Maintenance; Assists Program Students, PreNursing Students, Guests, Departmental Faculty and Staff.

Typical Duties/Job Duties

* Assists department chair, faculty, students, university, clinical partners, and departmental visitors in daily undergraduate nursing program business.

* Maintains general office records (to include digital and physical: reports, spreadsheets, databases, surveys, etc.) related to the undergraduate nursing program student files, board of nursing requirements, accreditation requirements, clinical partner requirements, university requirements, and departmental requirements. Maintains departmental supply inventories. Helps maintain compliance to university, accreditation, and Board of Nursing policies, mandates, and guidelines. Maintains daily, professional acumen.

* Communicates departmental correspondence, digitally and physically, to students; faculty; staff; and university. Communicates with the Texas Board of Nursing on Federal Background Checks, student admissions and student graduation program data. Communicates with our Nursing Clinical Experiences Coordinator on clinical requirements such as student immunizations, drug screens, and certifications.

* Coordinates undergraduate admissions and prepares final data for the departmental admissions committee each Fall and Spring. Coordinates the undergraduate nursing job fair each Fall and Spring. Coordinates the Departmental Community Advisory Board Meeting held each year. Coordinates with the Sim/Skills Coordinator nursing department tours and events. Helps coordinate nursing scholarships.

* Performs other related duties as assigned which includes but not limited to composing departmental correspondence; operating a variety of office equipment; opening and distributing office mail; answering departmental phones; greeting visitors or students; and providing program or routine information.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

* Knowledge of Banner, Ram Port, and NursingCAS.

* Knowledge of spelling, grammar, and punctuation.

* Knowledge of student education program, accreditation requirements, and licensure requirements.

* Knowledge of secretarial, clerical, and general office procedures and practices.

* Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications and software.

* Ability to perform work requiring accuracy and attention to detail.

* Ability to work under minimal supervision.

* Ability to organize and complete tasks in an accurate and timely manner.

* Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.

* Ability to type 45-55 WPM.

* Ability to operate a variety of office equipment.

* Skilled in time management.

* Skilled in oral and written communication.

* Skilled in interpersonal relations and professional manners.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED certificate required.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree completed in any field and two years clerical experience in a professional healthcare office setting preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
