Position Overview The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA), Division of Land Pollution Control, Field Operation Section in Champaign for the Central Region, is seeking to hire an Office Coordinator. This position performs a variety of technical and complex office support functions for the professional and technical staff in the Division of the Field Operation Section. Essential Functions Provides a variety of paraprofessional technical and complex office support functions for the professional/technical staff of the Champaign Regional Office. Coordinates Public water Supply (PWS) Operator Certification and Reporting for the region. Performs a variety of informational functions for the staff of Champaign Region Office and external parties. Serves as regional vehicle coordinator. Serves as a liaison to Agency records and Central Management Services (CMS) for Regional Office matters and activities. Maintains office inventory for the Region. Provides a variety of support functions for regional staff. Performs other duties as required or assigned, which are reasonably within the scope of the duties. Minimum Qualifications Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to two years of secretarial/business college. Or completion of high school and two years of related office experience. Or two years of independent business experience. Requires the skill in keyboarding accurately at 30 words per minute. Preferred Qualifications Prefers extensive knowledge of office practices, procedures, and programs. Prefers extensive knowledge of composition, grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Prefers extensive knowledge of basic mathematics. Prefers working knowledge of the logic of computer programs. Prefers ability to follow oral or written instructions. Prefers ability to operate commonly used manual and automated office equipment and perform routine maintenance. Prefers skill in keyboarding accurately. Prefers the ability to utilize a personal computer with knowledge of Microsoft Word, Access, and Excel software. Conditions of Employment Requires the ability to travel. Requires current and valid driver's license. Requires the ability to lift boxes of files weighing up to 35 pounds.
