Position Overview

The Illinois Department of Natural Resources is looking to hire an Office Coordinator for the Office of Land Management at Horseshoe Lake State Park. This position will provide specialized office support functions for the Site Superintendent at Horseshoe Lake, Frank Holten, and other locations as assigned. The ideal candidate will have experience as a timekeeper and have the ability to balance accounts, utilize organizational skills and use the computer to prepare a variety of documents, databases and spreadsheets. Horseshoe Lake provides a variety of activities for picnicking, fishing and boating, camping, hunting and hiking. Essential Functions

* Under direction, provides complex, specialized office support functions for the Site Superintendent for Horseshoe Lake, Frank Holten, and other locations as assigned

* Develops complex, multi-program databases, spreadsheets, forms, and applications for efficient completion of routine reports

* Serves as timekeeper for Horseshoe Lake-Madison, Frank Holten SP, and other assigned locations.

* Maintains records related to revenue obtained from sales of licenses

* Compiles data for the Regional Land Manager in preparation for the annual budget; project commodities and contractional needs

* Serves as office receptionist

* Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above

Minimum Qualifications

* Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to two years of secretarial/business college, or completion of high school and two years of related office experience or two years of independent business experience

* Requires the ability to keyboard accurately at 30 wpm

Preferred Qualifications

* One (1) year of extensive knowledge of basic mathematics

* One (1) year of working knowledge of the logic of computer programs

* One (1) year of experience having the ability to follow oral or written instructions

* One (1) year of extensive knowledge of composition, grammar, spelling, and punctuation
