Job Summary: The Human Resource Information System (HRIS) Administrator is an experienced, skilled systems administrator who manages, leads, and defines HR and Payroll systems implementation, configuration, security, reporting, support, and data management, in support of HR and Payroll activities, policies and practices. They play a key role in defining how the HRIS can be optimized to provide a superior user experience that supports the organization's growth and objectives. Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Oversees and maintains optimal function of the HRIS, which may include installation, customization, development, maintenance, and upgrade to applications, systems, and modules.
  • Provides technical support, troubleshooting, and guidance to HRIS users. Coordinate with IT, Payroll, HR and leadership to identify areas of improvement, recommend changes, and implement functional solutions for existing systems.
  • Serves as liaison between HR, Payroll, IT, external vendors, and other stakeholders for HRIS design and implementation projects.
  • Collaborates with leadership and Payroll to identify system improvements and enhancements; recommends and implements solutions.
  • Manages permissions, access, personalization, and similar system operations and settings for HRIS users.
  • Programs custom functions and documentation such as automated queries, filters, macros, and custom reports.
  • Actively identifies and resolves issues or opportunities for enhanced user experience.
  • Ensures system compliance with data security and privacy requirements.
  • Develops, documents and maintains all current and new HRIS business process workflows for efficiency and compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends and developments in HRIS providers, vendors, and technology.
  • Performs other duties as required.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Expert-level experience with UKG and similar payroll systems.
  • Familiarity with procedures to ensure the HRIS meets organizational needs and goals.
  • Ability to keep information confidential.
  • Excellent Excel experience and related software.
  • Thorough understanding of all areas of information systems with a highly technical understanding of at least one commercial HRIS product.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • 5 years' experience working with multiple payroll providers, including UKG.
  • Hands-on HRIS system expert continuously seeking ways to improve and optimize use of HRIS platforms; experience with multiple implementations preferred.
  • Knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of project management.
  • Strong problem solving/analytical skills with attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Able to work in a dynamic organization by balancing multiple priorities.
  • Able to work both independently and with cross-functional teams using good judgment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
