With the power of many curious minds, together we can solve the world's most complex challenges and deliver more impact together.Role description:Arcadis is seeking an Office Engineer/Administrator, with 5 years of experience, to join our Construction Management team onconstruction projects within the Mid-Hudson Valley area, specifically Bear Mountain, Newburgh and Poughkeepsie areas. This is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated individual to join our team locally with support from one of the best-qualified municipal consulting firms in the country. As an Office Engineer you will utilize your experience and technical knowledge of municipal infrastructure, water and wastewater facilities and general building projects to successfully execute and manage our projects under the supervision of the Resident Engineer.Role accountabilities:
  • Support the firm's day-to-day construction oversight assist Resident Engineering efforts on major municipal contracts.
  • Support inspection staff and the delivery of daily inspector reports in accordance with clients' requirements. Act as liaison to the Design Engineer to manage Contractor RFI responses, shop drawing reviews and contract change requests.
  • Responsible for project meeting agendas and minutes, record keeping, compilation of time and material records, general correspondence, compiling and drafting of required reports and deliverables and maintenance of project SharePoint site.
  • Responsible for the Contractor payment process, reviews payment items with inspection staff and recommends appropriate adjustments as necessary.
  • Responsible for field inspection and investigation duties as necessary and as directed by the Resident Engineer.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • 5 years of experience as an Office Engineer with both technical and administrative duties and 3 years of office engineering experience specifically for Public Works Construction projects.
  • Proficiency with Construction Management Information Systems (Procore, e-Builder, PlanGrid, etc.), scheduling software (Primavera and/or MS Project) and the MS Office Suite (particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Key Skills and Attributes:
  • Proven ability to effectively manage multiple project tasks simultaneously; this includes time management as well as technical field skills with the ability to work independently and proactively
  • Demonstrated commitment to providing a safe and healthful workplace.
  • Able to use functions of construction software document management applications
  • Effective research, data gathering and analysis skills.
  • Advanced communication skills, including the ability to liaise with peers and senior colleagues and build and maintain relationships.
  • A logical approach and ability to think through complex issues to coordinate multi-faceted aspects of projects.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 7 years of office engineering experience specifically for Public Works Construction.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • EIT, PE or professional certification such as CCM / CMIT.
