The Colwell Law Group is a rapidly growing law firm with three convenient locations throughout New York State. Our Syracuse location is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Legal Secretary/Office Manager to join our hardworking, professional, and dedicated team. As a member of The Colwell Law Group, you will assist in navigating individuals during difficult times in their lives. Our legal team represents clients in practice areas including but not limited to Divorce, Child Custody, Child Support, and Domestic Violence related issues. The ideal candidate should have superior organizational skills, a professional demeanor, and be a positive team player. Compensation- $45,000 - $55,000 yearly Responsibilities: • Ensure office area is maintained and clean working in conjunction with the facilities and vendor operations manager. • Communicate effectively with current and potential clients over the telephone, through electronic communications, and in person. • Diligently manage attorney's calendars, including scheduling meetings and appointments. • Maintain client files. (Creating digital and physical files, ensuring documents are uploaded to the appropriate folders, and assuring they are up to date with new information) • Manage daily mailing. (Collect, scan/upload, and distribute mail in a timely manner. Finalize and send outgoing correspondence) Qualifications: • 3 years of experience as a receptionist, administrative assistant, guest service specialist, or similar position preferred. • Must have graduated high school, received a G.E.D. or equivalent. • Proficient in all aspects of Microsoft Office, Excel, Westlaw, and document management software or equivalent. • Experience in answering telephone calls and troubleshooting stressful situations. • Strong professional judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
