Essential Functions and Primary Duties
* Manage and liaise with clients, and their advisors, including banking, investment, insurance, etc.
* Day-to-day management of Family Office staff with regard to client work, ensuring all work is completed timely, efficiently,
effectively, and thoroughly reviewed and processed.
* Heavy review of checks, bank reconciliation reports, investment reporting, budgets, payroll tax returns, bank application forms,
PFS, and various projects as needed.
* Ensure complete client satisfaction through open communication, managing expectations, meeting deadlines, being proactive,
and responsive.
* Train and mentor lighter level associates.
* Flexibility in schedule (able to work nights and weekends when necessary).
* Some travel within the Tri-state area required.
* Assist with long-term financial planning for clients.
* Review and maintain tax records to facilitate preparation of tax returns for various individual, family partnerships, LLC's, trusts
and charitable entities.
* Monitor clients' tax compliance and tax status. Respond to IRS notices.
* Review payments including wires, ACH payments, and checks for investment calls/subscriptions, redemptions, real
estate/household income/disbursements, loan payments and trust distributions and annuity payments.
* Assist in developing and implementing appropriate controls and procedures including systems and workflows.
* Oversee and manage the calendar of current and/or recurring payments.
* Partner with the Family Office Leader to build the infrastructure of the family office by improving technological
Preferred Qualifications
* Minimum 7+ years relative Family Office experience or accounting firm experience.
* Superb communication skills (written and verbal).
* Outstanding leadership, mentoring, and interpersonal skills.
* Able to problem solve and think both creatively and logically.
* Knowledge of tax law is a plus.
* Able to work alone or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.
* A loyal, dedicated and committed team member.
* Someone with high integrity, ethics and values.
* Diplomatic, tactful and discrete concerning confidential information.
* Bachelor's degree from an accredited university, finance/accounting degree a plus.
Minimum Qualifications Required
* Bachelor's degree
* 6 years of experience in public accounting or related field
* 3 years supervisory experience
* Must have active CPA or equivalent certification
* Ability to manage all aspects of client engagements
* Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally
* Must be able to travel based on client and business needs
* Proficient use of applicable technology
The annual salary target for this job in this market is $140,000-$165,000. The specific compensation for this role will be determined based on the education, experience, and skillset of the individual selected for this position.
