About the Job - Your Role

This position provides administrative support, performing and coordinating sensitive and confidential work for the Financial Operations Administrator and for the section managers within Financial Operations. This position responsible for interpreting and applying DOC policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

Your application materials will be reviewed to verify that you have:

* Two (2) years of general clerical experience that includes keyboarding, word processing, or other experience generating documents; OR

* An associate degree in any field; OR

* An equivalent combination of education and experience.

Requested Skills

* Receive phone calls/email inquiries and provide customer service

* Ability to act professionally and courteously with internal and external individuals, including coworkers, managers, other staff, and members of the public in-person, via e-mail, and via phone.

* Entering data into databases and maintaining data integrity

* Experience using standard office equipment such as desktop and laptop computers, printers, copiers, scanners, postage machines, video equipment, etc.

* Strong communication skills (verbal and written)

* Experience working with Microsoft 365 and Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, OneNote, Access, etc.)

* Organizing, prioritizing, attention to detail, multi-tasking, and fast paced organization

* Interpret and apply statutes, rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and guidelines

* Opening mail, scanning, saving, receiving, recording, reviewing, and follow up on returned mail items, etc.

Preferred Skills:

* Experience working with accounting related to invoices, past due notices and/or payments, reimbursements, warrants, deposit slips, and maintaining a vendor database.

Working Conditions

The salary range listed above is for non-PERS qualifying applicants. PERS qualifying applicants may be eligible for an adjusted range to reflect an additional 6.95%.

About the Process - What to Expect

After the application deadline, a recruiter will review submissions for education and experience to identify candidates who best fit the minimum qualifications and requested skills. Top candidates will be referred to the hiring manager. The hiring manager will review your application and schedule interviews. An interview will be held with a panel of stakeholders who have completed panel assessment training. Scores will be determined based on predetermined questions and scoring guides. Preferences points will be applied in compliance with relevant laws and bargaining agreements. There may be multiple rounds of interviews. Final candidates will have a background check, PREA check, and reference checks. Requirements for Employment

The successful candidate for this position must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility. Due to CJIS requirements related to system access, there may be some felony convictions that could disqualify you for this position. However, having a felony record does not exclusively restrict you from being considered as an applicant. CJIS clearance is done at the conditional job offer.
