  • Ability to establish and maintain effective communication and relationships with school personnel and the public
  • Considerable knowledge of and the ability to use correct grammar, vocabulary, spelling, and punctuation
  • Considerable knowledge of professional office practices and procedures
  • Ability to compile, analyze, and summarize data utilizing a variety of software, including budget reports
  • Ability to prioritize and schedule variable work
  • Ability to learn, interpret, and explain policies, regulations, and programs
  • Ability to design and originate forms, charts, graphs, and presentations using a variety of software
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding student information
  • Ability to exercise good judgment, take initiative, and work with minimal supervision
  • Considerable organizational skills
  • Ability to create professional quality publications
EDUCATION AND TRAINING:
  • Related Associate's Degree; or
  • High school graduate and five years of related clerical and computer experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of education and work experience
TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: 12 months SALARY: Salary Grade 59 FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Utilize a variety of appropriate computer software programs to create documents.
  • Assist with preparation of all material for state, federal, and grant audits.
  • Provide support for the multi-line switchboard when needed.
  • Arrange conference, meeting, and travel reservations for office personnel.
  • Complete forms in accordance organization procedures.
  • Compose, type, and distribute meeting notes, routine correspondence, and reports.
  • Greet visitors and callers, handle their inquiries, and direct them to the appropriate persons according to their needs.
  • Locate and attach appropriate files to incoming correspondences requiring replies.
  • Maintain scheduling and event calendars.
  • Set up and maintain paper and electronic filing systems for records, correspondence, and other material.
  • Manage projects, and contribute to committee and team work.
  • Order and dispense supplies.
  • Operate office equipment such as copiers, and phone systems, and use computers for spreadsheets, word processing, database management, and other applications.
  • Manage mail delivery and other communication services.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
  • PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
    • Must be able to stand, sit, or walk for prolonged periods of time.
    • Ability to reach with hands and arms routinely.
    • Ability to bend, stoop, carry, crawl, push, or pull.
    • Ability to carry and transport equipment, supplies, and materials
    • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds routinely and 50 pounds occasionally.
    • Must be able to visually and auditorily effectively communicate with staff and students.
    • Must be able to drive to variety of school sites.
