Job Description:
Medical Office Technician Advanced Brain and Body Clinic, a psychiatry clinic located in Golden Valley, MN is looking for the right person to join our support staff. This full-time medical technician's primary responsibility will be providing care for our patients who are receiving ketamine/ Spravato medication treatments. As a member of our support staff this position will be cross trained with our office support team to provide front desk coverage as needed and to back up our Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) technicians. Besides general psychiatry, Advanced Brain and Body Clinic specializes in treating patients with severe depression, anxiety and PTSD. This position requires that an individual be comfortable conversing with and monitoring our mental health patients, who have severe, treatment resistant depression, anxiety and PTSD, during their treatments. The medical technician will be supervised by high level medical providers, including nurses, PA's, NP's and MD's. Advanced Brain and Body Clinic has a strong focus on improving brain function. We believe that what is good for the body is good for the brain and our staff encourages our patients to improve their brain's health by improving their lifestyle choices. The successful applicant will have the following responsibilities: · Work with severely depressed and anxious individuals · Monitor patients (visually and by vitals taking) during and after ketamine/Spravato treatments that are administered by licensed providers · Provide a safe and therapeutic environment for daily treatment sessions · Schedule and manage patient treatment schedules and records · MADRS testing knowledge is helpful, but not required · Encourage patients to incorporate lifestyle changes that improve brain/body health · Maintain a high degree of accuracy regarding all details, especially patient notes · Provide medical intervention in emergency situations · Electronic Medical Record (EMR) proficiency · Office administration skills such as scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, reporting statistical information, ensuring that the correct forms are completed by patients · Completing patient prior authorizations and eligibility checks · Safeguarding patient and clinic information, abiding by HIPAA, HITECH laws and confidentiality agreements · Comply with Office Policy, Standards and the Employee Handbook · Courteous, professional, tactful, respectful communication with patients, peers, supervisors and the public · Possess a positive, resilient, optimistic attitude and energy · Commitment to be part of a TEAM Support other team members and contribute to the office's mission · Other duties as will be assigned Preferred Experience and Qualifications · BA or Associate degree from an accredited university or vocational school or similar work experience · Experience in a medical setting is helpful, but not required. · HIPAA and EMR knowledge. Willingness to learn. · First Aid and CPR knowledge and /or certifications.
