Office Technicians performs a variety of difficut clerical duties in support of their assigned program area.

These positions work around inmates and will speak with inmates on a regular basis.

* The position(s) require(s) the ability to type at a minimum speed as designated on the Class Specifications (link available in the additional documentation section). You must obtain a valid typing certificate confirming your ability to meet the minimum typing speed, prior to being hired. Additional information regarding acceptable typing tests is available at the CalCareers.ca.gov website.

Possession of Minimum Qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment. Candidates new to CDCR or the Division of Juvenile Justice are required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan Fingerprinting, and Tuberculosis testing prior to appointment followed by department annual Tuberculosis testing/evaluation thereafter.

Typing certificates are required for this classification. State departments will only honor typing certificates issued within the last four years and certified from a five (5) minute typing test that meets the CalHR requirements, with a minimum of 40 words per minute.
