Remaining in compliance with state and federal environmental regulations is a top priority for DEP, and our Oil and Gas Inspectors conduct monitoring and compliance activities and various reviews. In this position, you will become an expert with Act 214 - the Coal and Gas Resource Coordination Act , Act 13 of 2012 and 223 - the Oil and Gas Act , and Act 359 - the Oil and Gas Conservation Law , including Chapters 78, 79, and 80 of the rules and regulations. You will travel to locations in Western Pennsylvania to conduct inspections of oil and gas wells during drilling, production, alteration, and plugging phases. This includes inspections of wells in coal and non-coal areas, including conservation wells and gas storage reservoirs. These on-site inspections are conducted to determine compliance with applicable laws and regulations. You will also consult various permits, maps, well logs, handbooks, and other files. You will record your findings and conduct follow-up activities as necessary.Interested in learning more? Additional details regarding this position can be found in theposition description.Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Coal Center. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Three years of technical experience in well design, drilling, completion, production, plugging, or underground storage operations in the oil or natural gas industry; or An associate's degree in Petroleum Technology or closely related field, and one year of technical experience in well design, drilling, completion, production, plugging, or underground storage operations in the oil or natural gas industry. Special Requirements:This position requires possession of a valid driver's license which is not under suspension.Other Requirements: PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
