Dedicated to enhancing academic and student success, OMA employs holistic wrap-around services to address diverse student needs comprehensively. The office champions educational equity by providing robust support through educational programs, peer mentorship, and leadership training and plays a pivotal role in promoting student achievement and retention.The position provides the development and implementation of student success and support programs, enhancing access and retention for diverse student populations. Responsibilities include managing student caseload, success coaching, supporting research exposure and skills development through a STEM-based cohort. Additionally, the position collaborates closely with divisional partners, academic departments, and various student services to implement a comprehensive educational program that equips students with a holistic support network, promoting wellbeing and fostering seamless pathways to degree attainment and overall undergraduate student success.The OMA Coordinator is a grant funded position (October 2024 to May 2026), with potential for continuation contingent on funding. This is a grant funded, full-time, benefited position.Minimum Qualifications (Required):Education:Bachelors with 2 years relevant experience, however will consider candidates with Masters and 1 year.Experience working on student success initiatives in higher education.Demonstrated success in managing multiple programs, developing and executing new programs and initiatives within a diverse environment.Experience designing and executing successful campus programming, student success initiatives, or retention-related programs for a diverse population.Skills:Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with faculty, staff, students, and external partners.Ability to work independently, be organized, balance competing priorities to meet deadlines, and monitor progress toward achieving program goals.Attention to detail, and an evidence-driven mindset in decision-making.Ability to work with data sets to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for program improvement.Additional Considerations:Higher education experience preferred.Demonstrated expertise and experience working with underrepresented/underserved college students.Knowledge of best practices in student retention in higher education.Familiarity or ability to learn how to use: Salesforce, SiS, Microsoft Teams, and presentation software.Special Instructions to Applicants:Only current UML Employees within the Grants & Contracts (MTA/GRACE) bargaining unit will be considered during the first 10 business days of the posting.
