Position Title: On-Call Accompanist Position Type: Regular Hiring Range: $30 per hour Pay Frequency: HourlyA. POSITION PURPOSE This position supports the classroom, rehearsal and performance activities of our students and faculty. The position coincides with the university's academic calendar, from late September until early June, averaging 8-10 hours weekly, including possible evening performances. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES1.Provide classroom, rehearsal and performance accompaniment. • Accompany students at weekly lessons and rehearsals. • Provide accompaniment for other department-sponsored performances as assigned. • Flexibility to accommodate assignments involving occasional evenings and weekends.C. PROVIDES WORK DIRECTIONNot applicable.D. GENERAL GUIDELINES Recommends initiatives and implements approved changes to improve quality and services. Identifies and determines cause of problems; develops and presents recommendations for improvement of established processes and practices. Maximizes productivity through use of appropriate tools; planned training and performance initiatives. E. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Advanced musician or dance skills.
  • Excellent sight-reading skills.

  • • Ability to accompany and perform from open score.

  • Bachelor's degree or commensurate professional experience.
5. Years of Experience
  • One to three years accompanying or professional performing experience.
