Monmouth University is seeking applications for a On-Call Event Assistant.

The candidate would be expected to Operate Pro Venue Ticketing Software days/evenings of shows, selling tickets for Center for the Arts events including concerts, dance recitals, theatre performances, met opera screenings, national theatre broadcasts and other ticketed events. Manage Will Call, artist comps and back-stage passes, VIP tickets, handicapped seating, and other unique ticketing situations. Reconcile end-of-day reports.

This is an in-person, on-campus, non-remote position.

* Three (3) years of related experience.

* A valid Driver's License in your state of residence.

* Familiarity with Pro Venue Ticketing or similar software and Box Office Operations.

* Excellent customer service and ability to interact with various types of audiences.

* Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.

* Social media support experience.

* Experience running errands, setting up and breaking down hospitality at events.

Preferred Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree.

* Experience with box office software, sales, operations and customer relations.

* Experience with venue operations working with technical crews, tour and road managers, technical directors, stage managers, artists, and venue administration, and an understanding of how all these positions interact/relate to one another.

* Ushering and experience with front-of-house management and merchandise sales.

Duty

Provide Box Office support for all Center for the Arts Events, set up will call and artists comps, keep track of ticket and ticket envelope stock.

Set up and monitor catering. Break down catering at end of evening.

Regular or Occasional Regular Duty

Help ensure unauthorized personnel do not enter the theatre, backstage areas or dressing rooms.

Unlock all theatre doors. Check/adjust theatre temperature. Provide access to music stands, bar stools, stage carpets and other equipement requested by tech crew.

Responsible for answering phones, routing calls and providing excellent customer service to all callers and walk up.

Check that the listening enhancement devices are charged and available for all events. Collect devices at end of events.

Assist Met Opera/National Theatre Facilitator with the set up and break down of concessions in the theatre lobby days of broadcasts.

Assist with artist greet-and-meets, photo ops or Q&A's after shows. Inventory in and out artists merchandise, occasionally sell artist merchandise, expedite settlement at end of event.

Monitor gallery exhibitions outside of the box office windows; answer any questions and direct patrons to gallery hand outs and encourage them to sign the guest book. Direct them to the university's other two galleries.

Assist with maintaining mailing lists, email lists, entering patron data into excel when required and post Center for the Art events on community website calendar listings and other administrative duties as assigned.

Assist with setting up the dressing room with requested hospitality. Assist with the conversion of classrooms into additional dressing rooms when required and return them to their original configurations after shows; return all Center for the Arts equipment to its rightful place.
