Job SummaryThe HR Onboarding Coordinator will develop, coordinate, and streamline the onboarding process for the MBTA. Will enhance all aspects of new hire orientation, working closely with all organizational/departmental needs. Duties & Responsibilities
  • Lead/Facilitate the New Hire Orientation and the onboarding process for all new hires at the MBTA.
  • Review, revamp and elevate current orientation and onboarding process to increase new hire experience.
  • Responsible for scheduling and facilitating New Hire Orientation.
  • Assist new hires with completing of new hire employment documents, including documents needed for compliance such as I-9 forms.
  • Hold focus groups and seek out feedback to continually improve the New Hire Orientation and the onboarding process.
  • Liaison with Benefits & Staffing departments to ensure a successful onboarding process.
  • Point of contact for new hires for sign-on, badges, technology.
  • Coordinate with the learning system; 30-60-90 day/follow-up with new hires.
  • Enhance the New Hire Orientation to include site visits, within Safety guidelines.
  • Conducts the analysis of employment-related data and prepares required reports; compiles raw data into usable reports to assist with reporting needs of the HR team.
  • Exercises professionalism and confidentiality at all times, building trust and strong partnerships with clients.
  • Performs other duties as required and assigned.
Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Two (2) years of HR and/or Learning and Development experience.
  • Experience in a fast-paced team environment with strong attention to detail.
  • Resourceful, analytical, and problem-solving aptitude.
  • Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, ethics, and cultural awareness.
  • Demonstrated experience responding to clients with a customer service attitude.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) and comfortable learning new technical systems as needed.
Substitutions Include
  • A High School Diploma or GED with an additional seven (7) years of directly related experience substitutes for the bachelor's degree requirement.
  • An associate degree from an accredited institution an additional three (3) years of directly related experience substitutes for the bachelor's degree requirement.
  • A master's degree in a related subject substitutes for two (2) years of general experience.
  • A nationally recognized certification, or statewide/professional certification in a related field substitutes for one year of experience.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience with HRIS systems.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of HR compliance experience.
  • Strong awareness of state and federal employment regulations.
  • Additional HR training or experience.
  • PHR or SPHR certification.
  • Experience working in a union environment.

  • Ability to work all shifts and / or locations assigned, directed, or necessary for this position, including (for some transit / operations roles) up to twenty-four (24) hours per day, seven (7) days per week as necessary to accommodate severe weather conditions, emergencies, or any other circumstances that may potentially impact service or the safety of service
