Position Type: Student Support Services/School PsychologistDate Posted: 9/19/2024Location: Birchwood Elementary SchoolDate Available: ImmediatelyClosing Date: 10/06/2024QUALIFICATIONS: Must hold appropriate NJ certification; Must possess strong communication; managerial and leadership skills; Demonstrated knowledge of the laws and legal requirements surrounding the responsibilities; Demonstrated ability to function effectively in a diverse school community; Demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities; Responsible to: Building Principal and Director of Student Services Provide individual and group speech therapy sessions relative to the student's personal adjustment and emotional health; Assess the educational and psychological strengths and needs of the individual children in the cases assigned; Work with classroom teachers and special education teachers in the solution of management problems of children with learning or adjustment disabilities; Work cooperatively with parents/guardians to expedite referrals within and outside the district. Participate in solving classroom and school problems and seeks resolutions through appropriate channels; Demonstrate proficiency in the use of English by communicating with reasonable clarity, conciseness, and precision in both speaking and writing; Must be reliable and of good moral character; Must meet criminal background check.Working Conditions: PartTime, Tenure Track Application Procedure: All interested candidates must apply online. However, if you begin your office, position or employment on September 1, 2011 or later, you must reside in New Jersey. If you do not reside in New Jersey, you have one year after the date you take your office, position or employment to relocate your residence to New Jersey.
