Job Summary

This position is the primary point of contact for all processes related to online student support including fully online students, online program advisors, registrar, business services, along with other entities on campus.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

+ Plans and facilitates 1-hour virtual orientation sessions for newly admitted fully online students each semester. Once a semester, orientation requires participation after business hours and/or on weekends to accommodate the schedules of the online student population.

+ Maintains Office of Online Learning data for online student enrollment and fully online newly admitted students by online campus code, program, and semester. Also maintains fully online graduation numbers by online campus, grad/undergrad, program, and semester.

+ Creates and manages online student communication plan for currently and previously enrolled students including advisement, add/drop, graduation, and & student support information to contribute to student persistence.

+ Creates and manages online student communication plan for newly admitted, but not enrolled students including welcome message, advisor/advisement contact information and instructions, and enrollment information.

+ Assists fully online students with enrollment issues and serves as liaison between students and the university with issues pertaining to policies and procedures, financial aid, business services, and advising.

+ Serves as the primary instructor for the online student section of an orientation course each semester.

+ Other Duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in communications, education, or a related field. One to two years' experience in higher education, customer service, communications, and/or related training.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

+ Skilled in Microsoft office Word, Excel, PeopleSoft, Mongoose, Dropout Detective, and Instructure.

+ Ability to read, analyze, and interpret data relating to online student population.

+ Ability to complete complex reports using online data.

+ Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to write detailed correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to staff and faculty

+ Ability to respond effectively and quickly to resolve problems.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with PeopleSoft is a plus. Understanding of online learning and learning management systems. Ability to understand needs and support of online learning.
