Job Description:

Position: Verification Assistant

The Verification Assistant supports the process of assessing and determining compliance of the operation's program against established standards and program requirements while also providing administrative support at the Castle Rock, Colorado office.

Roles and Responsibilities:

· Support Specialists and Regional Managers in providing superior customer service.

· Assist Specialists and Regional Managers with preparing customers for onsite audits of assigned locations.

· Communicate with onsite inspectors for upcoming, current, and past audits as needed.

· Follow up with and assist Specialist and Regional Managers with corrective actions when necessary.

· Review audits for compliance to standards or program requirements.

· Compile audit findings into Verification Reports within timeline standards for Specialists and Regional Managers.

· Work with the customer to gather corrective actions.

· Collect and report customer feedback.

· Send notifications to customers for renewals or delist letters as needed.

· Answer and direct phone calls efficiently routing inquiries to the appropriate departments.

· Serve as a backup for tag orders, quality assurance, inventory, communication of shipments internally and externally, testing of livestock feeds, and reports data for Electric Identification Devices (EID) Tags & Non-GMO Project (NGP) Testing.

· Assist with other administrative duties such as data entry, inventory management, and office administration contributing to the efficient operation of the team.

· Support special projects and collaborate with team members to meet organizational goals.

· Perform any other responsibilities as needed.

Required Skills & Experience:

· High school diploma

· 2 years of experience in livestock and/or agricultural

· 1 year of customer service experience

· Highly detail-oriented

· Teamwork attitude with a strong aptitude for professionalism and courtesy

· Ability to process a high volume of data in a productive and quality driven manner with a strong sense of urgency

· Ability to keep accurate records, prepare and manage files, reports, letters, and billing

· Strong Microsoft Office and computer skills required

· Ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing with internal/external staff, vendors, and clients

· Maintains alignment with Where Food Comes From, Inc.'s Mission, Purpose, and Values

· Flexibility, focus and resilience in the face of high workload and competing demands

· Maintain confidentiality

· Discipline in following defined processes

Preferred Skills & Experience:

· Associate's degree in agriculture, food science, animal science, or other applicable field and/or 5 years of experience

· Ranch and/or feedlot background and experience

· Certification, Verification, and Onsite Inspector experience

· Food and/or feed processing/manufacturing facility experience

· Experience in industries with agriculture, agri-food systems, sustainability, and/or food and beverage certifications is a plus

· Possess a problem solving and solution-oriented approach coupled with a client focused mindset

· Self-motivated with a desire for continuous learning

Physical Requirements

· Able to use standard computer keyboard on a frequent basis.

· Able to walk up and down stairs and to sit for up to 8 hours.

· Frequent use of hands to operate office equipment, including computers and phones.

· Visual acuity to read detailed data on a computer screen.

Supervises: none

Working Conditions:

· Monday-Friday at the Castle Rock, Colorado office

· Limited travel required (~5%)
