The College of Business & Technology at East Tennessee State University invites applications for an exciting Open Rank Faculty position in the Department of Accountancy.
ETSU's scenic campus provides an inspiring environment to educate the next generation of accounting professionals. As a faculty member, you will teach core accounting courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, exposing students to real-world applications through experiential learning opportunities. You will develop innovative project courses where students apply their knowledge to complex accounting situations.
You will also serve as a site coordinator for the IRS VITA program, allowing you to directly impact the local community through free tax preparation services. As the faculty advisor for ETSU's chapter of Beta Alpha Psi, you will help students gain credentials and make industry connections.
In addition to your dedicated teaching, you are expected to conduct rigorous research that advances the accounting field. You will have opportunities to contribute your expertise through university service.

Required Qualifications
* Assistant Professor candidates must hold a terminal degree (PhD in accounting, DBA, or JD) by 8/15/2025.
* Lecturer candidates must have an MAcc or MBA degree with at least 18 hours of graduate-level accounting courses.
* Candidates must have a CPA license, CMA, or CIA professional designation. An inactive CPA license will be considered.
Preferred Qualifications
* 1 - 2 years of work experience in tax.
* Expertise and desire to teach income tax.
* Effective communicator both verbally and in writing.
* Project a professional image when interacting with other educators, staff, and community leaders.
* Inspire our business students to become accounting majors and successful members of society.
* Evidence of teaching excellence at the undergraduate and graduate levels of accountancy.
* Evidence of research potential and willingness to provide service to the university, college, and community.
