TITLE: CHILD STUDY TEAM SECRETARY
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High school diploma; secretarial training.
2. Experience in general or school office work, Child Study team experience preferred.
3. Knowledge of automated office equipment and excellent word processing and secretarial skills.
4. Interpersonal skills must include the ability to be compassionate, sensitive, and keep confidentiality for students, staff, and parents.
5. Must be detail oriented, possess strong organizational skills.
6. Must have the ability to communicate effectively in person, over the phone, and through electronic/written communication.
7. Pass required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.
REPORTS TO: Director of Special Education
JOB GOAL: To carry out all secretarial and clerical duties necessary for the smooth and efficient operation of the office.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Complete School District's ASSA Report each Fall (determines funding for the district) and other State Special Education Reports. Must be able to operate all business related technology to complete reports and clerical work required for the office such as Microsoft word, Access and Excel, Systems 3000, OnCourse, NJ Smart, IEP Direct.
* Transcribe to complete Child Study Team evaluations and reports. Compose and type correspondences, notices and reports as needed and determined by the Child Study Team Director.
* Maintain accurate student records.
* Schedule all meetings and Annual Review Conferences as well as evaluation schedules. Arrange meetings, prepare agendas, and handle logistics as necessary
* Manage all the details of office management; take precise messages for Child Study Team members, ordering, filing, etc.
* Assist the Director of Child Study Team with needs as they emerge.
* Maintain confidentiality as required and appropriate.
* Perform other tasks related to the efficient operation of the office as assigned by the Director of Special Education.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 12 months
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the board's policy on evaluation of support personnel.
