Position Overview:

Position Title: Data Center Engineer

Location Information: Hybrid - Dallas, TX

Duration: 8-month contract

Compensation: $50-55/hour

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced System Admin and Datacenter Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hardware management, datacenter migrations, and expertise in working with OpenShift. This role requires a hands-on approach and previous work experience inside Verizon or other service provider organizations is preferred.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage and maintain the organization's hardware infrastructure, including servers, storage systems, and network devices.
  • Perform regular hardware maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Plan and execute datacenter migrations, including coordinating with stakeholders, documenting processes, and minimizing downtime.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and support ***OpenShift*** environments.
  • Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement necessary optimizations.
  • Ensure datacenter security and compliance with industry standards and best practices.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to end-users and internal teams.
  • Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps for knowledge sharing and future reference.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends related to system administration and datacenter management.

SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven work experience as a System Admin and Datacenter Engineer
  • Strong knowledge of hardware management, including servers, storage systems, and network devices.
  • Experience with datacenter migrations, including planning, execution, and risk mitigation.
  • Proficiency in working with ***OpenShift***
  • Hands-on experience with system administration tasks, such as installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard security practices and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
