Job Description:

As an Operating Room Nurse at our Ambulatory Surgery Center, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality surgical care. You will be responsible for ensuring patient safety, comfort, and well-being throughout the surgical process. The ideal candidate will have diverse operating room experience, particularly in circulating roles, and will be comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of the operating room.
  • Ensure all necessary equipment and supplies are available and functioning.
  • Circulate during surgeries to provide support and ensure patient safety.
  • Monitor and document patient vital signs and overall condition during procedures.
  • Collaborate with surgical team members, including surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical technologists.
  • Provide pre- and post-operative care and education to patients and their families.
  • Maintain a sterile environment and adhere to infection control protocols.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuous education.

Qualifications:

  • Must have or be willing to obtain a Connecticut nursing license.
  • Minimum of 3 years of operating room experience, with a strong background in circulating.
  • Experience in orthopedics, general surgery, and pain management is highly desirable.
  • BLS and ACLS certification required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a high-stress environment.
