Job Description:
As an Operating Room Nurse at our Ambulatory Surgery Center, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality surgical care. You will be responsible for ensuring patient safety, comfort, and well-being throughout the surgical process. The ideal candidate will have diverse operating room experience, particularly in circulating roles, and will be comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of the operating room.
- Ensure all necessary equipment and supplies are available and functioning.
- Circulate during surgeries to provide support and ensure patient safety.
- Monitor and document patient vital signs and overall condition during procedures.
- Collaborate with surgical team members, including surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical technologists.
- Provide pre- and post-operative care and education to patients and their families.
- Maintain a sterile environment and adhere to infection control protocols.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuous education.
Qualifications:
- Must have or be willing to obtain a Connecticut nursing license.
- Minimum of 3 years of operating room experience, with a strong background in circulating.
- Experience in orthopedics, general surgery, and pain management is highly desirable.
- BLS and ACLS certification required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a high-stress environment.
