Overview:
Position Title: Operations Manager
Classification: Full Time-Exempt
Reports To: General Manager
Rate of Pay: $72,200
The Operations Manager is responsible for a safe operation and management of ground equipment, staffing and the day-to-day activities of the Station. The Operations Manager is responsible for leading and developing supervisory and front-line team members as well as promoting and maintaining relationships with airline customers. The Operations Manager is also required to deliver against established operational and financial performance goals. This position is accountable for reliability, customer service delivery, branding, fostering positive employee relations, cost management, and regulatory compliance. Leadership of the cabin department also entails close oversight to ensure compliance with government regulations such as FAA, OSHA, DOT and CBP. The General Manager will rely on this person to make decisions and give directions in their absence.
Responsibilities:
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work with the local airline leadership to maximize operational performance in areas of on-time performance, staffing, training, compliance and safety
- Interact with airport authorities, government agencies, airline customers and external organizations
- Ensure all ramp safety, AOA safety, security rules and regulations are followed; report any violations as necessary
- Accountable for reliability, customer service delivery, fostering positive employee relations, cost management and regulatory compliance
- Participate in all local, regulatory and business partner audits and report any findings and/or areas of concerns
- Review facilities and operations for compliance and accident prevention deficiencies
- Coordinate purchases for operational necessities and ensure adequate supplies are available to meet customer standards
- Investigate, report and implement corrective action for any incident of aircraft damage or employee injury and conduct/participate in employee coaching and counseling as necessary
- Maintain proficiency and ability to mentor direct reports to further advance their effectiveness and career development
- Ensures efficient scheduling of personnel and uses assigned resources to provide maximum and effective productivity
- Accountable and responsible for ensuring team members are adequately trained
- Delivers against operational and financial goals and objectives
- Accountable for ground support equipment
- Manage local employee relations in collaboration with the HR team
- Oversee any disciplinary action resulting or potentially leading to termination in order to ensure proper documentation and consistent application of polices
- Support the recruitment process and employee development in collaboration with the HR team
Qualifications:

- Strong working knowledge of airline operations
- Proven business acumen, technical learning/innovation management and a drive for results
- Ability to understand financial implications (cost benefit) in operational decisions
- Superior problem-solving, conflict management and decision making skills
- Demonstrate communication, leadership and analytical skills
- Ability to develop effective relationships at all levels
- Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office software; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Publisher
Required Education & Experience:
- Bachelors Degree in Aviation Management or related field and/or equivalent experience; 3-5 years of airline/aviation experience required.
- Strong understanding of Cabin Appearance
Additional Requirements:
- Possess a valid US drivers license
- Must pass drug screen and a 10-year FAA background check (employment/criminal)
- Must demonstrate excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills in English
- Must be able to perform in a fast paced environment while maintaining a professional and effective approach to high stress situations
- Internal candidates must have a recommendation from immediate supervisor
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment as well as outdoors in an airport ramp environment. The employee may become exposed to the elements including but not limited to heat, rain, and snow.
