A financial services company in New York City is currently seeking a new Operational Accounting Associate to join their growing Accounting team. Responsibilities: The Operational Accounting Associate will be responsible for:
- Creating and maintaining a general ledger account inventory and reconciliation assignments for all suspense ledger accounts across all legal entities
- Overall maintenance of assigned accounts in TRECS/Cadency, including manual matching of transactions in TRECS to eliminate outstanding items and import closing ledger balances
- Researching and conducting meetings with the responsible business areas
- Providing support for other units in Operational Accounting, including journal entries and reconciliations
- Performing other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of Accounting experience
- Bachelor's Degree
- Computer savvy
- Solid analytical, mathematical, and research skills
- Great interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly organized
Desired Skills:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, and/or Finance
- Working knowledge of General Ledgers, Journals, Accruals and Reconciliation
- Microsoft Excel proficient
