Job Description:Position Title: Operational Task ForceOperating Company: Environmental Solutions Group - Marathon EquipmentLocation: Vernon, ALReports to: Materials ManagerDepartment: OperationsShift: 1stPosition Summary: This position is responsible for a variety of job duties that fall in the job roles and responsibilities of a Welder, Finaler, Machine Operator, Painter, and Material Handler. A team member on the Operational Task Force will rotate to all production areas of Marathon and will be available to assist when needed. Team members in this role will report to a specific department for 6-month intervals and will be available to assist in plant operations in all areas previously trained.Roles and Key Responsibilities:Welding: Perform welding tasks, ensuring safety, quality, and timely production. Refer to the Welder job description for additional information. Finaling (Electrical): Install new components and repair electrical systems/panel boxes for equipment. Refer to the Finaler job description for additional information. Shipping/Forklift Operation: Obtain on-site forklift certification and assist shipping and kitting teams as needed in moving equipment and parts. Refer to the Material Handler and Kitting job descriptions for additional information. Fabricating/Machine Operating: Operate different machines/equipment in the Fabrication department. These include but are not limited to: Hyster, cranes, job booms, hand plasma, etc.). Refer to the Machine Operator job description for additional information. Painting: cleaning and painting parts and equipment for based on order needs. Refer to the Painter job description for additional information. Visually inspects parts and equipment to ensure quality. Records and maintains inventory of parts used on lines daily. Completes inspection form on products and submits to Technical Service Department. Manually transports metal parts up to 40 pounds to/from storage area daily. Performs minor maintenance duties on equipment. Includes changing tips, gas diffusers, gas lines, rollers, etc. Be available to work required overtime as needed for plant operations. Observes all safety regulations and reports any unsafe working conditions to supervisor. Performs other various duties as may be assigned. Must be flexible to move to any area requested and work weekends as needed (will remain on same shift). Must be willing and able to train others as necessary.Program Criteria: Demonstrate excellent safety and quality behavior by operating in a manner where no safety or quality discipline would be issued. Maintain exceptional attendance per the ESG Attendance Policy (Maintain less than 6.0 attendance points). Meet the requirements for all areas/positions listed above and demonstrate the capability to be proficient in the specific areas assigned after each 6-month rotation. Failure to meet these expectations will result in reassignment based on company needs and the team member's demonstrated experience. Exemplify a Team Terra culture in all day-to-day activities by adhering to and promoting the ESG Team Terra Guiding Principles. Failure to meet the program criteria will result in team member being reassigned to an area at Marathon based on operational needs and team member's experience.Requirements:Education: Requires a High School diploma or GED.Knowledge: Requires ability to understand general arithmetic; ability to write in an understandable manner; understand verbal or written instructions; ability to read and understand instructions, lists and billing materials; use PC based applications, including Mainstar, Outlook, and Microsoft Office, knowledge normally acquired through high school or equivalent experience.Mental: Requires normal attention with periods of high concentration intermittently to operate machinery approximately 50% of time.Physical: Requires walking/standing approximately 70%, lifting up to 40 pounds approximately 15% of time; involves repetitive overhead work approximately 10% of time; involves repetitive stooping, forward bending and crouching approximately 5% of time.Manual Dexterity: Requires use of hands, arms and feet for repetitive lifting; use of hands and arms to operate all manufacturing equipment, meters, chains hoists, automatic drills and general hand tools and to record written information.Audible Demands: Requires ability to follow verbal instructions and to hear for safety purposes.Visual: Requires the ability to visually observe essential functions for satisfactory job performance and safety; color and depth perception required.Environmental: Involves exposure to plant environments with the presence of dust, fumes, noise, and fluctuating temperatures due to lack of climate control.Advancement: Job advancement is based on demonstrating an increased skillset during the duration of the 6-month rotation. (For example: If an individual starting a welding rotation is evaluated to be a Welder Trainee at the beginning of the program, they must then have the skillset of a Welder I by the end of the rotation to advance. Once a level II skillset is achieved, the individual must maintain that skill set through each rotation).
