This position involves coordinating with various departments to ensure smooth and efficient airport functioning, including monitoring flight schedules, managing gate assignments, and overseeing baggage handling activities. You will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with safety and security regulations, and promptly addressing any operational issues or emergencies. Additionally, this role requires effective communication with airline staff, airport personnel, and external agencies to maintain operational excellence and passenger satisfaction.WHAT IT'S LIKE TO WORK AS A OPERATIONS AGENTCoordinate daily operational activities within the airportMonitor and manage flight schedules, gate assignments, and airport resourcesLiaise with airline representatives, ground crew, and air traffic controlEnsure compliance with all aviation regulations and safety standardsRespond to operational issues and emergencies promptlyProvide timely information to staff and passengers regarding flight status and operational changesManage passenger boarding and disembarking processesOversee baggage handling and resolve any baggage-related issuesCoordinate with maintenance teams for aircraft and facility upkeepAssist in implementing emergency response plans and protocolsMonitor weather conditions and their impact on flight operationsPrepare and maintain accurate operational reports and logsFacilitate communication between different airport departmentsParticipate in training and development programs related to airport operationsEnsure a high level of customer service and passenger satisfactionMay be assigned other duties as requiredQUALIFICATIONS18 years of age or olderEligible to work in the United StatesMust have a valid state-issued driver's license with an acceptable driving recordMinimum of 1 year of experience in airport operations or a related fieldStrong understanding of airport operations and safety regulationsProficiency in using airport management software and systemsAbility to read, write, speak, and understand the English language, to include documentsAbility to use electronic devices including IPads/Tablets, Computers, and Mobile DevicesEffectively communicate with colleagues and clients, both in-person and through electronic meansEligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable)Ability to work any day/shift, including holidays, within a 24/7 operationTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential requirement satisfactorily.
