POSITION SUMMARY The Operations Analyst will collect, research, and analyze data to support our Commercial, Retail, and Residential property teams. This role is instrumental in driving data-informed decisions by supporting the budget process, developing simulation models for process improvements, and implementing software and technology. It also provides analytics for accounts payable and receivable and assists with contract bidding and occupancy analysis. WHAT YOU'LL DO
    Conduct expense benchmarking analyses to identify cost savings opportunities and areas for performance improvement in building operations.
  • Collaborate with teams to create operational efficiencies and cost reductions across commercial, retail, and residential portfolios.
  • Perform comprehensive vendor analysis and research, including:
    • Monthly Master Contracts Accounts Payable analysis and reporting.
    • Monthly Property Accounts Receivable tracking and reporting.
    • Monthly Expense Variance analysis and reporting.
    • Master Contract Bid Document analysis.
    • Cost simulation, scenario analysis, and data validation.
    • Develop master expense budget assumptions for corporate allocations to properties and master contracts managed by the Operations team.
    • Upload, analyze, and review budget reports to ensure accuracy, identify trends, and support strategic decision-making.
    • Prepare and maintain monthly property-level occupancy tracking and reporting.
    • Extract and analyze data from JBG SMITH's internal applications for reporting and research purposes.
    • Manage and execute project workflows for routine and special projects, ensuring timely completion.
    • Perform other duties as assigned. WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED (REQUIREMENTS)
      • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
      • Intermediate skills in other programs and overall PC operation, with the ability to quickly learn and effectively use internal accounting and software tools.
      • Strong administrative and organizational skills.
      • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to accurately collect, interpret, organize, and evaluate detailed data.
      • Experience with Yardi Voyager and Yardi Elevate products, including data extraction, reporting, and analysis.
      • Experience in the commercial, residential or retail property management industry preferred.
      • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
      • Composed demeanor, professional appearance, positive attitude, and customer-oriented approach are priorities for this position.
      • Exercises good judgment and is tactful; discreetly handles sensitive personal and confidential personnel matters and information.
      • Ability to keep processes moving forward and take the initiative as appropriate.
      • Must be self-motivated, reliable, dependable with excellent attendance, flexible, and versatile.
      • Must be confident and capable when communicating with customers inside and outside the company.
      • The ability to work well under pressure.The salary range for this position is $75,000 to $90,000 annually. Please note that the salary range information provided is a general guideline. It is uncommon for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on a variety of factors.
