The Operations Assistant is responsible for assisting the location manager/seed advisor in daily operations. This position will support the seed and fertilizer portions of the business. The position will be involved in mixing chemicals, loading dry fertilizer, tendering application equipment, repairs and general maintenance on equipment. In addition, this position will specialize in seed inventory, treatment, and delivery. The position will work closely with all employees at the location.The Operations Assistant will report to the Plant Manager of Lexington, IL. This position will work with the Lexington customer base.Essential FunctionsAssist Plant Manager/Seed Advisor in daily operationsMust be able to operate seed tenderLoad dry fertilizerUnload incoming seed- bulk and packagedLoad/unload pallets or seed boxes with forkliftTreat soybeansManage seed inventory, warehouse maintenance and cleanlinessSort seed ordersDeliver seed to growersPerform general maintenance and repair on plant equipmentCustom apply products as neededLoad/tender anhydrous ammoniaBuild and develop long-term relationships with customers, peers and suppliersRequired SkillsRelationship BuildingLeadershipCustomer FocusAbility to multitaskProficiency in Excel and WordThe Operations Assistant will be required to work at a retail location in all types of weather.Classification/Expected Hours of EmploymentThis position is a full-time position and is exempt from minimum wage and overtime pay requirements under federal and all applicable state or local laws.
