YOUR ROLE: This position is an in-person opportunity located in Madison, WI, lasting between 3 to 9 months. It will begin in May or June 2025 and is suitable for a Summer 2025 Internship or a Summer to Fall 2025 Co-Op. You will play a pivotal role in driving cross-functional impact within Operations through continuous improvement projects aimed at enhancing efficiency. For example, you will work on optimizing workflows and supporting automation initiatives with our Kit Packaging team, as well as assisting our Facilities and Manufacturing Engineering teams with spare parts inventory management and process improvements.
YOUR EXPERIENCE: You have successfully completed at least one year of college and are actively pursuing a Bachelors degree, ideally in Industrial Engineering or Supply Chain/Operations Management. Additionally, you possess experience in leading teams or project activities and have demonstrated excellent communication skills.
JOB OBJECTIVE: The Operations Continuous Improvement Intern utilizes process improvement and data analytics tools to analyze and solve complex problems within the Operations organization. This position helps drive positive change for efficiencies in areas such as inventory control, throughput, material flow, productivity, and ergonomics/safety. CORE DUTIES:1. Analyze processes and data in Operations to identify and implement improvement opportunities.2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams across the Operations organization. Facilitate, support, or lead project activities with these groups.3. Utilize continuous improvement lean tools, methodologies, and training.4. Apply data analytics methods to summarize results and build visual solutions for key performance indicators (KPIs) within Operations.5. Demonstrates inclusion through their own words and actions and is accountable for a safe workspace. Acts with kindness, curiosity and respect for others.6. Embracing and being open to incorporating Promegas 6 Emotional & Social Intelligence (ESI) core principles in daily work.7. Pursuing a bachelors degree in a business, engineering, or science related field in their sophomore, junior, or senior year of school.2. Strong ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.3. Experience leading a team or project activities.4. Ability to simultaneously manage multiple tasks and projects.5. Ability to solve complex problems.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Pursuing a Bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering or Supply Chain/Operations Management.2. Proficient using the Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel. 3. Experience using lean manufacturing or six sigma concepts.PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 1. Ability to use a computer.2. Ability to remain stationary for several hours at a time.3. Ability to move objects up to 50 pounds.
