The Director of Operations provides oversight and fiscal responsibility for the effective implementation of processes to allocate state funding to eligible CSU campuses, ensuring timely allocation of funds and mechanisms to produce and release annual reports on funding activities and outcomes. The responsibilities assigned to this position require considerable initiative, independent judgment, diplomacy, discretion, confidentiality, professionalism, and the ability to interpret and communicate complex policies and procedures. The Director of Operations will make recommendations to the ED regarding specific Central Office business administration issues, retreats, professional development, and event planning, identifying solutions and actions as needed. The Director of Operations will support the ED in preparing for and implementing all aspects of the budget development and human resource and management processes. They will also support the ED by providing executive assistance. - Bachelor's degree or equivalent in human resources, public or business administration, sociology, or a related field. (Possession of additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required degree on a year-for-year basis.)
- Three+ years of full-time professional experience providing executive-level administrative consulting and support to a senior-level executive or administrator, including strategic planning and project management.
- Three+ years of experience supervising and providing lead work direction to staff (e.g. setting work priorities, providing direction, and delegating tasks).
- Experience interpreting complex policies and procedures and communicating them effectively to others.
- Professional experience monitoring, tracking, and reconciling budget expenditures and making budget recommendations and human resource management.
- Experience providing executive assistance support.Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
