Job Description: Operations Lead - Critical EnvironmentsSUMMARYDual focus providing administrative and technical support for sales and our clients in both the acquisition and fulfillment stages of critical environments projects. This requires a unique combination of sound financial management, customer service skills to influence the design and purchase of critical environment systems, problem solving skills to ensure accurate equipment delivery, field experience to provide site support services and drive to accomplish other specific objectives in a given time frame with limited resources. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other functions may be assigned.
  • Provide administrative and technical support to sales engineers; teaming with them to support consulting engineers, contractors or technical buyers for system and product selection, design and pricing during the design and fulfillment stages.
  • Responsible for timely completion of projects and maintaining owner, engineer or contractor satisfaction.
  • Responsible for the take-off, optimization/validation of the equipment to include selection of size, configuration, voltage, options, operation, etc. of the equipment by reviewing the plans and specifications.
  • Prepare proposals and pricing breakdowns while evaluating equipment savings.
  • Stays current with material costs to address escalation during budgeting of long-term projects.
  • Develop preliminary and/or final submittals as required for timely production release and delivery of equipment.
  • Develops relationships with represented manufacturers, maintains competitive advantage and stays abreast of industry trends.
  • Administration and management of projects including coordination with multiple suppliers and customers along with creating and managing purchase orders to meet customer requirements.
  • Communicate with subcontractors and suppliers by obtaining/negotiating prices with vendors for materials and evaluating vendor submittals.
  • Documents work by maintaining files for each job including, but not limited to, internal and external customer correspondence to mitigate project risk.
  • Responsible for P&L on a job-by-job basis.
  • Coordinate and perform service and technical support during start-up and throughout the warranty period.
  • Meets deadlines for proposals, submittals, equipment release and other assigned tasks.
  • Simultaneously handles a large and diverse number of projects and issues with tact, cooperation and persistence.
  • Flexibility to work outside normal work hours, as required.
  • Willing to travel.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESThis position has no supervisory responsibilities.QUALIFICATIONS include the following:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction, or other related areas preferred.
  • Two (2) to three (3) years of experience in the HVAC industry performing project management or estimating roles preferred or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Familiarity with HVAC Systems and/or Temperature Controls preferred.
  • Must have basic PC experience in Windows environment, working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook), Web-enabled applications and intermediate level experience with Excel.
  • Must possess excellent math aptitude, financial acumen, superior follow-up skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills are required.
  • Experience and knowledge of operational processes associated with the installation and service of commercial HVAC systems.
  • Knowledge of service standards, processes and procedures.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
