Are you ready to lead with excellence and drive continuous improvement in a dynamic environment? We are seeking a dedicated Lead Operations Technician to oversee and guide our operations crew with minimal supervision. In this role, you will be responsible for creating work orders and schedules, performing data entry, and generating reports using company systems. Your leadership will be crucial in monitoring, coaching, and ensuring that our operations run smoothly and efficiently. You will collaborate with various departments, including winemaking, maintenance, bottling, cellar, warehouse, EH&S, and quality, to meet production schedules and uphold the highest standards of safety, Food Safety, Environmental, Quality, and GMP standards.
As a shift lead, you will allocate crew resources effectively, lead by example in following safe work practices, and ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures. You will identify opportunities for improvement in safety, quality, efficiency, and cost savings, and operate equipment when qualified and trained. Your role will include performing inventory reconciliation, participating in continuous improvement projects, and creating effective weekly schedules that incorporate employee development and training needs. You will also play a key role in safety incident investigations, facilitating Root Cause Analysis, and maintaining HACCP, Quality, and Food Safety standards.

What You Will Need:
+ High School Diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 6 years of wine production experience or production operations experience or 8 years of winery, brewery, or production operations experience reflecting increasing levels or responsibility.
+ Experience leading teams.
+ Required to work any assigned shift (day, swing, graveyard); required to work weekends and overtime when necessary.
+ Flexibility and a strong work ethic are required.
+ Strong attention to detail and works with a sense of urgency.
+ Required to wear a respirator, when necessary (Cellar/Sanitation).
+ Required to undergo onsite forklift certification.
+ Skilled in reading, comprehending, interpreting and executing simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
+ Skilled in writing simple correspondence.
+ Skilled in adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing using whole numbers and units of measure (inches, feet, gallons, etc.).
+ Initiative to identify issues, risk and gaps and communicate findings.
+ Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.

What Will Set You Apart:
+ High School Diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 8 years of winery production, brewery production or goods manufacturing experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
+ Skilled in written and oral communication: skilled in reading, comprehending, interpreting and executing simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
+ Lean Fundamentals and participated in Kaizen
+ Experience using a computer: skilled in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word and computer based inventory management and work order systems including HMI systems.
+ Knowledge of basic winemaking (varietals, appellations, style).
+ Knowledge of basic Wine Chemistry - Brix, alcohol, TA, pH, RS, VA, SO2, Temperature, O2.
+ Knowledge of basic fermentation - primary and secondary fermentation, WAF, spoilage and controls.
+ Knowledge of grape processing - receiving, pressing, clarification and fining, extraction, drain and press.
+ Knowledge of wine processing - heat/cold stability, barrel filling and processing, filtration, centrifuge, O2 pick-up, MOX, shipping / receiving and fining.
+ Knowledge of wine bottling - sanitation of equipment, sterile filtration, labeling / packaging, warehouse management systems
+ Knowledge of basic warehouse operations, movement of goods, and shipping/receiving.
+ Experience showing versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities.
+ Experience being a team player.
+ Experience running an operations crew.
+ Experience using broad direction to accomplish daily tasks and address issues as they occur.

Compensation:
+ Hiring Hourly Range Posted: $27.80 - $37.50 / Hourly
