Ocaquatics Swim School currently has 5 locations throughout South Florida and is looking to open more facilities. In order to support their business goal, Ocaquatics and Miami Dade College developed a registered apprenticeship program which takes personnel who are doing necessary work to complete business, to personnel who produce new business. Apprentices are employed to complete routine tasks such as instructing swimmers and supervising the deck, while also being mentored in operations/general management such as implementing safety rules, scheduling activities and daily operations, marketing for clients, training new and existing team members, monitoring equipment, opening and closing the facility, building relationships with customers, attending manager meetings, and performing inventory.Program Benefits

- Physically capable of performing the essential functions of the occupation
- Have a high school diploma, General Educational Development (GED) equivalency or other high school equivalency credential
- Able to read, write, and speak the English language
- Register as a Miami Dade College studentIs this program right for me?This program is designed for persons who aspire to enter employment in the following areas: accounting/budgeting, business management, finance, human resources, international business, marketing, small business. No previous work experience is required.Additional InformationThis 2000 hour registered apprenticeship program includes related technical instruction (RTI) in business, management, marketing, and supervision. Classes are delivered at multiple campuses during the day, evening, and weekend to accommodate on-the-job training (OJT) hours. OJT is delivered at the employer facility and includes safety and emergency procedures, customer service, human resources, and facilities and manager-on-duty operations.
