- Pay: $180k - $200k (based on experience) + 30% Target Bonus
Job Duties:
- Serve as a key leader in the organization, bridging communication and aligning objectives between upper management and the shop floor.
- Foster a culture of business ownership across all levels, including managers, superintendents, supervisors, and crew members.
- Translate overarching goals into actionable steps that are meaningful at the operational level.
- Utilize a data-driven approach, demonstrating the ability to support and defend decisions with solid data.
- Monitor performance, measure results, and provide actionable feedback.
- Maintain a focus on disciplined execution with a strong emphasis on Operational Excellence.
- Promote and implement a daily continuous improvement mindset.
- Identify and prioritize key operational focus areas on a weekly basis.
- Understand and address the distinction between stability and improvement, applying appropriate problem-solving techniques for each.
- Apply the Theory of Constraints in practical scenarios.
- Communicate effectively across all organizational levels, adapting language and messaging as needed.
- Interface with staff departments (e.g., finance, quality, supply chain management, environmental health and safety), understanding their needs, translating these needs into actionable plans, and reporting on accomplishments.
- Develop and implement long-term strategic and capital expenditure (CAPEX) plans.
- Collaborate closely with the plant manager, supply chain, and finance teams to create and execute strategic operational plans, including manufacturing strategies to achieve capacity increases.
- Apply the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) cycle in conjunction with continuous improvement efforts.
- Implement or enhance standards and processes to establish a system that provides key performance indicators (KPIs) visible from the shop floor to management.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
- At least 12 years of experience in manufacturing, ideally within a heavy industrial environment.
- Minimum of five years of supervisory experience managing both hourly and salaried employees.
- At least five years of experience in a unionized workplace.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Employment eligibility will be verified upon hiring. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
- This role is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), which mandates U.S. person status. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident (Green Card holder), political asylee, or refugee.
- Experience with casting and hot rolling is preferred.
- Experience with Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) systems is preferred.
