Position Type: Secretarial/Clerical/Operations ManagerDate Posted: 6/17/2024Location: Student Services Date Available: ASAPClosing Date: Open till filledOperations Manager Winchester Public Schools is looking for an experienced person to develop operational and financial efficiencies within the Department of Student Services. Position Purpose: The Operations Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day financial management and coordination of the Department of Student Services. This person will serve as a key stakeholder within the department. They will analyze, direct, and oversee multiple organizational reporting systems and communicate actively with the State Department of Education. This person will work directly in partnership with the Director and Assistant Director of Student Services. Qualifications:
  • Minimum of Bachelor's Degree in Business or Financial Management; or equivalent experience and training;
  • Minimum of three years of executive-level financial experience;
  • Minimum of three years of leadership experience;
  • Ability to provide leadership/training to staff in areas of specialization;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to consult effectively with teachers, administrators, and parents in a variety of settings;
  • Excellent command of oral and written English language and ability to present effectively to large groups;
  • Valid Connecticut Driver's license and reliable transportation for on-the-job travel;
  • Ability to effectively work and communicate with students, parents, and school personnel from diverse cultures or backgrounds in English, Spanish, or other languages related to the job is preferred
  • Maintains the integrity of confidential information pertaining to students, staff, or district patrons;
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Management of long/short-term financial projections related to student enrollment/placement;
  • Management and communication with all out-of-district providers
  • Ability to evaluate Individualized Education Plans and provide detailed feedback;
  • Assists and manages the development of the grant writing process;
  • Assists with the analysis of performance data for local, state, and federal reporting purposes;
  • Management of Hospitalization notices - invoices
  • Homeless transportation: monitoring cost sharing, creating purchase orders
  • Maintains and updated excess cost worksheet
  • Invoice DCF
  • Preparing invoices for OODs
  • Managing accounts receivable
  • PPS ordering and grants, tracking grant balances
  • eFinance management
  • Excess cost worksheet and reconciliations with the business office
  • Annual cost report
  • FY projections
  • Copy invoices with PO #'s
  • Must be able to work independently, be confidential at all times, and triage sensitive situations with the utmost accuracy and discretion.
  • Additional tasks may be assigned by the Director and/or Assistant Director of Student Services at his/her discretion.
Working Conditions:
  • Private contract. Reports directly to the Director and Assistant Director of Student Services.
  • 12 Month Position
  • Salary range: $45,000-$49,000
Requirements:
  • Must pass federal and local background checks;
  • Must have reliable transportation;
  • Must complete all pre-employment requirements before the start date;
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
