Job Summary:

We are seeking an Operations Manager to oversee the 2nd Shift and 3rd Shift departments at our Middletown, CT Distribution Center. The approximate hours are 6pm - 3:30am and require flexibility before or after to meet operational demands. Reporting to the CDC Director, this role encompasses various responsibilities, including:

- Managing warehouse shipping operations to ensure top-notch customer service.

- Assessing and reporting on the efficiency of warehousing activities and staff performance.

- Directing daily shipping operations, dispatch, and 3rd shift loaders to maintain punctual departure of the transportation fleet.

- Ensuring precision in outbound shipments and department-related inventory transactions.

- Monitoring schedules, prioritizing manpower, and overseeing projects.

- Safeguarding company assets against theft and damage.

- Cultivating departmental success through effective team/individual metrics and staff meetings.

- Establishing, implementing, and enforcing standard operating procedures and policies for the Central Distribution Center.

- Training and continuously developing supervisors and lead employees.

- Supporting the Central Distribution Center team to optimize customer service, accuracy, and operational efficiency.

- Reporting equipment failures or unsafe working conditions to the management team.

- Undertaking additional responsibilities related to Shipping, Wire Room, and Operations Management as assigned.

Required Skills:

- Proficiency in RF picking and receiving methods.

- Over 10 years of supervisory experience or its equivalent.

- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

- Experience with Process Improvement methodologies.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant computer programs.

- Ability to work under pressure with a sense of urgency.

- Capability to multitask in a fast-paced, competitive environment.

- Exceptional leadership skills with conflict resolution abilities.

- Flexibility in work hours (2nd and 3rd shifts may be required).
